St.
George Utah
Red Rock Motorcycle Tours
I’ve been riding motorcycles
since I was sixteen years old on the road as my only
transportation, later for pleasure and racing motocross
in the dirt. Having lived in California for forty
one years I had the advantage of good riding weather
all year round and made good use of it.
I was a National HOG member
and also a Local chapter member where we had over
500 membership. That meant lots of great group rides
over the years on day trips, long weekends and 7 day
trips. I became the Safety Officer for a while and
learned all there was to know about safety riding
in groups from 6 to as many as over 100 riders. I
was fortunate to meet my wife on one such ride so
we both share a passion for the open road on a big
Harley.
When we grew tired of the hectic
life and busy freeways of Southern California we moved
to St. George in Southern Utah, less than 2 hours
from Las Vegas. The weather was ideal but the surrounding
countryside was breathtaking, with hundreds of miles
of open roads and the best part being it was almost
at your front door, whereas in California to ride
anywhere scenic you had to spend 2 hours fighting
freeway traffic first and the same on your return
journey.
This is when my wife and I
decided we could share this experience with other
riders, hence the start of our family owned Motorcycle
Touring Company. I lead the Tours and “Pop”
drives the chase vehicle. Pop is a cowboy and is more
at home on a ranch breeding and breaking horses but
is now content herding a bunch of Harley Davidson
riders safely around the countryside. In case of an
unlikely Indian attack he is well versed in “Circling
the Wagons”. You’ll enjoy talking to him,
he’s real laid back and nothing is too much
trouble for him, just a nice guy, even though he is
my father-in-law.
My wife and my mother-in-law
are behind the scenes doing the paper work but once
in a while if time permits we will have the pleasure
of her company on a ride. I ride a 2004 Road Glide
because I like comfort and she rides a 2004 Heritage
Softail Classic because she likes style, you know,
the old Police Bike look. We have explored many areas
together and enjoyed every minute of it, so come join
us and we will make sure you do the same. It will
be an experience you will keep and share with your
grandchildren for ever.
